Portable Fire Extinguishers, Mechanical Foam type is one of the types of the Fire Aid Fire Fighting Appliances. This type of extinguishers in which foam is expanded by means of pressure produced from compressed or liquefied gas from a pressure container fitted into the extinguishers, is suitable for fighting fires in non-polar flammable liquids.

Portable Fire Extinguisher,Mechanical Foam type is suitable for Class ‘B’ fires.

Construction
It is a Cylindrical Type duly welded and fitted with cap and cartridge along with discharge horn and nozzle, duly painted Fire Red. Strictly confirming to IS: 10204-1982.

Principle
The extinguisher shall be operated by holding the extinguisher upright and piercing the gas container by applying pressure on the knob of the cartridge-piercing mechanism, whereby the compressed gas shall be released from the gas cartridge into the container and shall expel the foam by agitating it and exerting a pressure on it.

Available in 9 litres Capacity.

Applications
Useful for Class 'B' Fires involving flammable liquids or liquifiable solids or the like where a blanketing effect is essential.
